I’ve had a wicked virus with low-grade fever, body aches and an intermittent cough that burns like fire the last few days.

During our final calls of the year, my clients and I shared what we wanted to experience during our holiday break and what we wanted to put aside until the New Year.

Ironically, two things I wanted to do during this time off were to wear my PJs all day and read during the day in front of the fire. Turns out I haven’t had the energy to do much of anything other than that (save sip hot tea, watch movies and binge watch The Morning Show) ~ so mission accomplished.

At first I found myself feeling frustrated by not feeling able to work on business and personal plans for 2024 and needing to cancel social plans. But rather than rail against what’s happening I’m giving myself permission to allow what is.

My brain isn’t in the mode to focus or create or even daydream.

My body is doing its best to fight off some sort of virus and apparently that means I need to sleep and lounge around. (A lot ~ which is very weird for me!)

The reason I can do this with confidence and self-compassion is I know that being derailed for a week or so isn’t going to make or break my business or my personal life.

I have a clear vision and support systems for both and as soon as I feel well again, I’ll get back on track with ease.
