Cultivate Gratitude to Help Bring Creative Dreams to Life

This morning I saw my dad cycling at White Rock Lake while I was on a walk.

We run into each other there by chance from time to time and it’s always a lovely surprise when I do.

Today was no exception.

In fact, today I felt an immediate and immense wave of gratitude wash over me after we visited for a minute, shared a quick hug and I watched him pedal off to join his cycling buddies (and likely log 50+ miles ~ at 82 years young btw!)

My brain filled with rapid fire reasons I felt grateful:

  • Dad’s health and vitality and his dedication to both

  • Him being a wonderful role model for me

  • That we both have the physical and emotional ability to do the activities we enjoy (cycling, walking, Dad plays pickleball, I play tennis)

  • That we live so near such a beautiful lake and get to be there so frequently to enjoy it

  • That I almost always see something breathtaking while I’m there

  • The fact I’ve created a business that allows me the flexibility to schedule my days in ways that I love

Practicing gratitude is a habit I’ve intentionally cultivated over the years.

And it’s been especially strengthened over the past few years since I’ve incorporated it into the Magic Action Plan ~ a planning tool I created we use in my coaching programs.

The Magic Action Plan serves as a literal M.A.P. to help us stay on track as we work to bring our creative dreams to life and gratitude is a small (but important!) piece of it!
