Jill Allison Bryan: Dancing in Limbo

Jill’s enchanting music offers soulful lyricism laid down in a bed of inviting piano and blanketed with her warm, fluid vocals. Her intimate musical creations touch listeners in a profound and personal way with their emotional depth, be it melancholy or joyful. Songs from her recent solo CD release, Dancing In Limbo travel from black and white images of a 1930’s dance hall to a seemingly picture-perfect contemporary couple struggling to remain connected. Always drawn to the mysterious, Jill also embraces the notions of “Infinite Possibility” and personal spirituality in her music.

She enjoys comparisons to artists such as Sam Phillips, Aimee Mann, Tori Amos, Patty Griffin, Allison Kraus and Joni Mitchell, and admits freely that as a teenager she desperately wanted to be Stevie Nicks.

In the early to mid-90s, Jill performed as a solo acoustic act before joining the award-winning band, Big Boss Groove and recording their popular independent release, Moontown Street. She and BBG bandleader, Doug Bryan, married soon after and still make beautiful music together – co-writing, recording and performing with each other whenever possible. Doug and Jill co-produced “Dancing In Limbo” along with Salim Nourallah and Rip Rowan at Pleasantry Lane Studios in Dallas, Texas.
